Stats comparison and a few questions?
« on: October 04, 2015, 11:36:05 AM »

First ever post here so Hi and please take it easy on me and sorry for the LONG post. Please bear with me as I would like to be educated  :)

I've been with PlusNet for nearly 4 weeks now and prior to that was on BT Infinity 2 since it went live 30 months ago. I've never checked stats before but when I went live with PlusNet I also got an ASUS DSL-AC68U AIO solution (I was on an ECI cab with an ECI/r (locked) modem) which enabled me to telnet in and have a nosey. When I went live with PlusNet my connection was solid for 4 days then Interleave Up/Down kicked in - Two days later FastPath came back on the Up and another Two days later FastPath came back also on the down. Below (the first set) are the stats for the ASUS a few hours after full FastPath was restored;

Now the fact I had lost FastPath temporarily and the newly sparked interest in stats persuaded me to buy an unlocked HG612 off FleaBay and a MK3 faceplate to replace the MK1 that I had. I've now put the ASUS in bridge mode and below are the current (as I type) stats for the connection;

If you are still here now for the question;

1. The ATTAINdown on the ASUS stats is significantly higher than the MAX down on the HG612 stats. Why would this be? Is it possible the ASUS was not reporting correctly?? I realise the actual rates are quite similar although slightly lower on the HG612. If the ASUS was correct then why is the HG612 lower and can I increase it and my actual?

2. Where on the HG612 stats does it show that I'm on FastPath?

3. Where on the HG612 does it show that G.INP is not enabled? I know it's not anyway as it's an ECI cab.

4. Finally. What does anyone in the know think of the stats? Things like FEC down on the ASUS vs HG612?

TIA, Mick  :)

D:      1      1

This is fastpath, if it's above 1 it's interleaved.

         Bearer 0
If you had G.INP there'd be Bearer 1 as well. Also there would be a block that looks a bit like this:
Code: [Select]
RxQueue: 28 0
TxQueue: 14 0
G.INP Framing: 18 0
G.INP lookback: 14 0
RRC bits: 0 24
