Hi there,

I just measured mine, and it's been switched on for several weeks in a well ventilated space, running DSLSTATS and not much else

The reading is showing as temp=46.5C

Hi, mine is enclosed in a Pi-Bow case, from Pimoroni which has several ventilation holes both top and bottom.

I purchased three heat-sinks (one for the memory/SoC, one for the power regulator and one for . . . er, b*cat forgets) at the same time when I purchased the case for my R-Pi.

After giving it a bit of a workout (building DSLstats) I get this with my RPi 2:

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd measure_temp
temp=36.3'C

It isn't in an enclosure, but just has a plastic box as a dust cover.

The pi running my webserver in the shed 50.3C
OSMC media centre Pi 49.8C
NAS Pi 41.7C

Routerstats/energy monitor Pi - oops, seems to be offline!

I use a free Android App called Raspi Check, which will give you all manner of stats from your Raspberry Pis, including temperature, uptime, CPU load..

Though clearly I don't look at it enough if I hadn't spotted (until now) that the routerstats pi was offline.

Many thanks for insight into your RPi CPU temps and yes i can see what burakkucat is saying it's not just the CPU when looking at this site http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/675/what-are-the-maximum-operating-temperatures-of-the-components

Basically, don't fret over the CPU temperature.

It's rated to go fairly high (75 or 80C?) and then will scale back under the Kernel.

Heatsinks aren't necessary (though they do reduce the temperature a bit)

Early on, I thought my (as then) XBMC media player Raspberry Pi was crashing due to overheating, it turned out to be a power supply problem and has been fine since once I replaced it.
