AArdvark some url's which may interest you, they also include hostname lists which we can check against (I havent had time to do so yet).

@Chrysalis

Thanks.
1st link ..... been there  ;D [mydigitallife is a source of many 'interesting' things, been lurking for many years. Some tools/utils very useful to fix problems etc]
2nd link ..... shocking but not a surprise to us both.
3rd link .... Seen that as well before.

I have been searching round for a definitive blocklist as well, when I find anything useful I will post it.

You may find this interesting http://www.snbforums.com/threads/adblocking-with-combined-hosts-file.15309/
I have combined it with the dns-ipset stuff and it works fine but I don't appear to be getting anything listed from 'ipset --list' anymore.
(Still checking scripts to find error or typo, assuming it is a problem.  ;D )

well all these sites probably get it all from the same source which I think the localgost was the first source.

a update from me, I have temporarily disabled the ip blocklist on my router.

The source of that list was the localghost site which has removed the article, in addition one of the ip's turns out to be just bing this ip 204.79.197.200, so I am not sure if the other ip's are also false positives.

No other issues I have noticed aside from that ip tho.

I did notice that Bing was one of the IP's but I never use Bing or IE so no loss.  ;D
I have not noticed any problems so have left it running.
Still looking for a source for a 'better' blocklist.

updated host blacklist here.  The previous list blocks insidder build updates and windows store.

Code: [Select]
choice.microsoft.com
choice.microsoft.com.nsatc.net
df.telemetry.microsoft.com
diagnostics.support.microsoft.com
oca.telemetry.microsoft.com
oca.telemetry.microsoft.com.nsatc.net
reports.wes.df.telemetry.microsoft.com
services.wes.df.telemetry.microsoft.com
settings-sandbox.data.microsoft.com
settings-win.data.microsoft.com
sqm.df.telemetry.microsoft.com
sqm.telemetry.microsoft.com
sqm.telemetry.microsoft.com.nsatc.net
survey.watson.microsoft.com
telecommand.telemetry.microsoft.com
telecommand.telemetry.microsoft.com.nsatc.net
telemetry.appex.bing.net
telemetry.microsoft.com
telemetry.urs.microsoft.com
vortex.data.microsoft.com
vortex-sandbox.data.microsoft.com
vortex-win.data.microsoft.com
watson.ppe.telemetry.microsoft.com
wes.df.telemetry.microsoft.com

Also analysing dns cache and some traffic sniffing shows some sub domains need filtering as well but I am not sure if I can excert the effort to collect them, but if I do will post here.  The net is awash with much larger lists that have spread like a virus and its a toxic list from people who dont know what they doing.
