thanks to Kitz and Roseway for your latest replies.

Chris, thanks for that.  I will have a go later today and see how I get on (that is if there are no thunderstorms at the time.  They are threatened for later today and/or tomorrow and I hate to be on the computer, or phone, during a storm!)
I'll be back.

I should say that both wireless and ethernet were working, but would still be grateful if you or someone could have a quick look just to see if you think stats are what they should be!
many thanks, Julie

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.2
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.3

Looks ok to me

The only difference I notice is that the wireless connection is getting DNS from the gateway, whilst ethernet gets it directly from PNs DNS servers.

hi kitz,
thanks for your response.  Is this difference a problem, should both be the same or doesn't it matter?

hi julie.

I dont think it makes any difference.
I prefer to set them on the local machine, but it really is a personal preference and size of network.
