Apple/Samsung payout shrinks further (The Register)
« on: August 19, 2015, 12:59:06 AM »

The recent $1b case against Samsung which won Apple $548m damages looks to be due a little more shrinkage.
A patent used to win the case appears to be heading for invalidation due to 'Prior Art'.

Maybe Apples wealth cannot buy anything they want ?  ;D ;)

Ah - Apple vs Samsung and the American patent system. If you can pass a test on BT's DLM, you might qualify to struggle your way through that one!

It was something I semi-followed, back in the day that PJ and Groklaw were covering things, though I more cared what SCO were doing with their Linux threats. It's a real shame PJ stopped.

Here's an earlier article calling the 677 patent into question:

Thanks for that.
I am reading it but need to be a bit more awake to understand it.
(Too convoluted to just skim it  ;D)

Probably read it in the morning when I am awake & the caffeine has kicked in.
