I must admit that the "doings" in the centre of the PCB caught my eye. It looks somewhat similar to a USB port but clearly is not such a socket:-\

It probably will be b*cat.
The vodafone stations usually have a removable panel on the back case around that area, into which you can plug a 3G dongle which they call a vodem.

:hmm:  Hmm . . . It seems to be parallel with the PCB. Interesting and puzzling.  ;)

Indeed, it does. A very good match to the PCB shown (once rotated by 180 degrees). Thank you.  :)

I've got a similar one and it's a Huawei HHG2500, distributed by Vodafone for Vodafone Connect.  I too would like to unlock it, but can't find out how to upgrade the web interface to let me configure another ISP.

Someone on the Sky User forums wrote an app so you can connect the WAN port of a Sky router to the PC and see the credentials the Sky router uses to make a connection - http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/extracting-sky-router-passwords/59028-simple-tool-extracting-username-password-your-router.html
