Ive thought about an Apple board for a while.
Leave this with me and when I get back later tonight, I'll have a look at the no of Apple type posts that I could perhaps move there.
If I forget.. give me a prod in a couple of days

I've very quickly created a new board for Apple related.

I'm aware that there are probably quite a few posts that should be moved there, but as I am totally knackered to the point of dropping and I have more of the same for the next few days I need to get to bed before I wake up with a keyboard imprint on my face.    So moving of any posts will have to wait until I have a bit more time and Im more alert :)

PS - not sure if it should be in the Software section and may be better under hardware.
Thoughts from others appreciated as to its best home?

As I understand things, it is Apple hardware using a variation of the BSD variety of Unix.  :-\

Looking again at Weaver's request, I sense that it might be more appropriate in the Hardware section . . .

Thanks b*cat.   Thats what I thought after I'd already created it - and why the sudden doubt.
Ive now moved it and transferred in some of the most obvious apple related posts that I came across during a quick scan.

I just noticed, and strongly approve.

You could actually argue either way as to whether it would have been better in software or hardware.   True that  iOS and OS X are built on Unix,  the file systems are recognisably Unix and from an OS X command line, it pretty much is Unix.   But the GUI stuff, the frameworks  and APIs that run the Apps are not, I would say, native Unix.  Research 'Cocoa' if you want to find out more.

Anyroads, the new forum is perfect where it is.   I will follow with interest.    :)

I'm considering doing similar for Raspberry Pi as that seems to have taken off well on here too - especially with so people buying them for monitoring of line stats.
