DLM taming tips - switching off
« on: July 13, 2015, 01:01:59 PM »

I recently read the new(ish?) site section on the workings of BT DLM, and hurt my feeble brain.

What's the best advice about timing of turning off your modem and turning it back on again so as  not to upset the DLM deities? Regarding
(i) length of time spent off,
(ii) number of switch-offs
(iii) time spacing between switch-offs,
basically anything we can say as a good rule of thumb. Any v simple help much appreciated.

It's surprising, and a real shame, that BT doesn't take last gasp/dying gasp or whatever into account. Seems madness not to?

And if you are going to do multple power offs always leave a 30 minute power on state between each.

30 mins off then 30 mins on 30mins off then 30mins on and so on.......
