You could use the 4-pair ethernet cable as two 100mbps ethernet connections given the info I provided. That would be neat. Go on, I know you want to  ;D

Thats to much for me but would love to have a go but don't understand how one cable is then split into 2 cables ?

Because you only need 2 pairs for 100mbps Ethernet and the cable has 4 pairs.

So lets say you need the 1st pair for the Hg612 to Wan on the router and the 2nd pair for port 2 on HG612 to any port on the router for stats as all i have is one RJ45/RJ11 socket output/input  from the Data extension socket surly you would need a CAT5 splitter adapter :-\

Well, yeah you need two plugs or sockets on each end with two pairs going to each. And as the ports on the HG612 are only 100Mbps fast ethernet anyway, you're not limiting anything.

I know the old ADSL DSL Splitters had performance issues hope it's not the same for these cheap Cat 5 RJ45 Network Ethernet Splitter  :-\

The difference is that DSL is analog but ethernet is digital.

All information in electronics is analog at the start it's just converted to digital somewhere near the end known as analog-to-digital converter or digital-to-analog converter for out/in devices but at then end of day the voltage fluxuation is the driver for all

As anticipated the DLM give me a smack in the bake for misuse of the pairs though i would have thought it would show up as reds in the DLM reason status indicator on MDWS but no.
