When are ISP's going to offer single order GEA "SOGEA"
« on: July 08, 2015, 01:18:06 PM »

When my BT contract ends, I'd ideal move my phone number over to VOIP and go phoneline less.

BT announced something about SOGEA early this yea, short of a product roll out, but when the hell are Openreach going to offer the product to ISP's then we can order it from ISP's. I know the openreach will have to charge for something like line rental, but hopefully it should be cheaper than renting a phoneline and line card on bt equipment.

well think of the current situation with line rental been a goldmine.

I expect all isp's have decided its not in their interest to offer the product. :(

The major ones anyway. they are milking phone lines at the moment big time. it's been published that pretty much anything over £10 +vat is pure profit.

I'm hoping ISP's likes AAISP, Xilo, Zen might be first, if the product comes about from openreach which should also make their offerings more competitive again vs big guns with broadband and phone line. AAISP are definitely keeping their phone line rental very low, and not gouging.

The problem for the smaller isp's at the mo is they can't compete on price especially when it comes to unlimited broadband. I'd love to be with AAISP, but my usage is pretty high, some months I stray into terabyte territory, that could get expensive fast.
