DDNS!
« on: July 08, 2015, 06:26:31 PM »

Hi,

I've setup a DDNS account and the plan was I could login to the router when I'm out and about and monitor the connection put I'm not having much luck any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

How are you updating your DDNS to keep the IP address current?

DSLstats has a built-in webserver which does what you want. See http://www.s446074245.websitehome.co.uk/webserver.html

The link I gave above has instructions. I appreciate that it's not a tutorial as such, but it has the essential information. Just fill in the details on the setup page, ignoring the "Snapshots only" section (unless you want to incorporate the graphs in your own website). Then follow the instructions in the "1. Displaying pages in a browser" section.

Yeah it's looks complicated for me I'm unsure about the ports IP addresses etc.

I've setup the DDNS account on my draytek router and it's all contexts I just need to port forward the correct ports to gain access to the draytek router while I'm out.

I'll keep on having a go on the HG612.

Thank you

Rather than opening your network to the outside word, you could use MyDSLWebStats to monitor your connection.

I'm currently doing that now  ;D

Just wanted to monitor it when I'm away.

I think I will just leave it for now as I'll rather have a secure connection.
