Martin Baker recently announced it was withdrawing all spares and support for its vintage ejector seats.
This will most affect date expiry stuff like the gun cartridges.
These parts will have both a "on shelf life" and a "fitted in aircraft life"
So once the current stock runs out that will be it - finished.
You may end up with 3 nominally serviceable aircraft but only one ejector seat between them.
So that will end any vintage jet flying in the world unless you can find both pilots and airworthiness authorities willing to grant exemptions to flying with inert seats or someone with more money and time than sense can figure out how to fit and indeed certify a modern ejector seat into an old aircraft.
I did wonder if MB's decision on the timing of this announcement was geared to the ending of the Vulcan's flying time - they would not want to be seen to be the company that ended it.
