Just thought some of you who do not get the Vulcan newsletter might be interested in the UK tour this weekend. The provisional routes subject to the usual caveats of weather and operational circumstances are shown  at https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zJoGZd3-Qg5U.k9_QAWQWnmes for the Northern Route on Saturday, and https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zJoGZd3-Qg5U.k3u8IUZTll6M for the Southern route.

Stuart
Thanks for above .
OMG Saturday its coming over my house again  :yay:

Its the Rolls Royce factory in Derby that brings them our way although I do not live in Derby I go past the vast factory site which is where the engines came from.

Is there any details about times ?.

I see that we East Anglians will not be included in the southern route.  :(

I am unable to determine whether I shall see it.   When I click on the link on my iPad, Google Maps App is launched.     It then, as always, asks me to allow it access to location services.  And being Google which I intensely distrust, as always, I refuse.   It then yields a map of the UK, with no detail of actual flight path.

Are Google suggesting that the flight path of the Vulcan depends on my privacy settings?   :-\

Attached are screen-scrapes which show both routes . . .

There is an App for Android (not sure about IOS) for XH558 which will show the route in almost real time when flying I guess timings etc will become available nearer to the actual flights and their twitter feed is also pretty much in real time when they fly so you can get some idea of when they might appear. I suspect you might here it arrive anyway  ;) ;)  Sadly I'm travelling on Sunday and the route I'm taking is not over flown by XH558  :(

From B'Cat's screen-scrapes, I don't think I shall be seeing it. :(

They have a newsletter for XH558 to which I subscribe. They are saying that there will be further flights during October but as yet no details. Worth watching their website and subscribing to the newsletter as that is probably the first place details will be announced.

It came over Glenfield last Sunday (probably 1km up) - I was walking to the shop with my daughter & we both thought it was a low East-Mids freight flight until it turned a little and the delta wing was obvious.

Nice to see it again.

Had a weird one flew past me yesterday evening (Nottingham) while I was stood outside on the phone.....It had a weird linked up tail - looks and sounded just like this:

Our conversation ended while it was flying over as we couldn't hear a single word - was cool to watch though!

We are advised that the Vulcan will fly over us at around 45 min from launch  ;D

However we have not been told what time that launch is  >:(

I had a walk down the Lane and at about 3.40 it flew right overhead, it was amazing. :)
It banked then to fly over the RR factory in Derby some 10 miles away, it did not get permission from air traffic control to fly over EM Airport so there would be a lot of disappointed people there.

So sad that the last flying example of this iconic plane is being grounded :

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-34496932

I love the way its so recognisable, the huge delta wing

I guess running them isn't cheap...
