You are uploading invalid data!
« on: April 21, 2015, 03:49:51 PM »

No idea though as nothing changed here(perhaps it should?)

DSLstats v5.4 is telling me "incorrect login name or password"

I usually use Ronski's editor V5 for uploading stats.

Perhaps someone can point me to relevant thread to resolve this issue.

thanks

Is it just the mydslwebstats username and validation key you have set incorrectly?

Can you confirm you are talking about mydslwebstats please? I'm currently only slightly confused.

And you've changed from Ronski's stats editor to using DSLStats now?

Ronski's editor allows uploading to mydslwebstats but neither that or DSLstats v5.4 is uploading my data for the reasons stated in my OP.

If you are using both HG612 Modem Stats and DSLStats at the same time, is only one of them set to upload data to MDWS?

Also, have you set HG612 Modem Stats co-operation within DSLStats to ensure the programs don't clash?

It is possible that you have one or more 'stuck' instance of HG612_stats.exe.

It should appear in Task Manager for a few seconds every minute.
If it doesn't disappear after a few seconds, you could end the process in Task Manager, which should start harvesting & uploading of data again.

You could always post the last few every minute entries from the file named ONGOING_ERROR.LOG_file_ERROR.TXT for me to have a look at what might be going wrong.

I usually only run HG612_stats, never both at the same time, however neither are uploading stats.

I still get the username/pasword error from DSLstats as shown in attached picture.

thanks to both of you anyway.

It seems as though you could possibly have a corrupted modem_stats.log file.

Could you try the attached version of HG612_stats.exe?

Rename the existing version (in the Scripts folder) & unzip the attached version into the Scripts folder & let me know how you get on.

If the issue is what I think it is, you should hopefully see these entries in ONGOING_ERROR.LOG_file_ERROR.TXT & the program will have recovered the corrupted log:-

**** ERROR! - modem_stats.log containing NULLs was encountered ****
****  INFO! - It seems that the program recovered modem_stats.log ****
Now in exit. Status = 1,

Tried it and no such entries in the log I'm afraid.

But would that cause the username/password error anyway ?

FYI I've also rebooted the PC, modem and router.

All I can say is nothing at all changed here,

Sometimes I do use a VPN service.

Thanks again.

O.K. That wasn't the problem then.

Just to get things running again, you could rename modem_stats.log (in the Ongoing_Stats folder).

The next time HG612_stats.exe runs a brand new modem_stats.log should be created.

If HG612_stats.exe still doesn't complete normally, I'll have to think what else could be causing the problem.

Have you previously used a VPN service without any issues?

On its own, the issue shouldn't cause the username/password error, but it COULD be a side effect.

If starting a new modem_stats.log allows HG612_stats.exe to complete normally & upload valid data to MDWS again, could you please copy & post the last few rows from the renamed modem_stats.log (including any blank or partial rows at the end of the log)?

I'd like to resolve that issue when you're ready, but at the moment I guess you want to concentrate on HG612_modem_stats.

New modem_stats.log created but still not uploading any data.

VPN service doesn't usually cause any isues and not running whilst testing this.

EDIT: the log is the new one as opening the old one with notepad causes notepad to stop responding and I have to kill it with task manager.
