I was looking for a local ping monitor after that Google DNS issue last night and came across Smokeping. It wasn't too difficult to setup on the pi:



More graphs is always handy, eh? :D



Well worth a look I'd say!

The page refreshes are a bit slow and the FAQ mentions something about switching to fast CGI but I have zero knowledge of web stuff. Any ideas? :)

Thanks - the server doesn't run CGI though for various reasons but I'll keep it in mind.

smokeping is nice and I use it although sadly its starting to become dated.

fastcgi is a module in apache which can be used to access cgi/fpm, nginx also has such a module but its compiled by default with nginx so as such less effort is needed when using nginx to set it up.
