Billion 8800nl
« on: March 05, 2015, 09:23:03 PM »

hi , I gave up with the TP-LINK w9980 it just don't work with SKY fibre .So I now have the Billion 8800NL . I have extracted my user name and have set up the option 61 but I can't get a connection . Would I be right in saying I need to leave the old unit offline for a period for the line to renew ?

Thanks jon

Hmm . . . I'm not sure -- never having had experience of Sky as an ISP.

I suspect Rizla may have an opinion on the subject. It just depends upon him seeing this thread.

Reading elsewhere I believe you need to set the '802.1P Priority' to '0' and the '802.1Q VLAN ID' to 101 with SKY.

Lots of info on Google for: 8800nl 101 vlan SKY :)

Cheers for that , I googled it at work today and just got home and worked first go . It's strange that Billions quick start guide tells you how to set up for SKY but fails to mention this simple task  ???

Glad that helped  :)

I'm hoping to get this router so any feedback on how you find it working out would be good.
