BBC definition of 'API'

I see the Beeb have defined what they think an API is....

Possibly a lot more intelligent. I wrote them an email of complaint some time ago because I got fed up of reading how Malala Yousef (sp) had been given a cochlear implant which had restored her hearing and everything was wonderful now, and as someone who has had a cochlear implant myself, it doesn't work like that at all.

I find it really annoying when they're touted as a 'cure' for deafness, when in reality they're much more limited than regular hearing aids and are basically a last resort. My email did no good because some weeks later they mixed up a BAHA and a cochlear implant in another article, and continued lauding implants as the miracle that makes deaf people hearing...
