It's hard to dampen the inquisitive mind; forced apathy can be a slippery slope!

Mind you, it would help if K5 actually did some practical testing and shared the results instead of just talking about it all the time and waiting for b*cat to answer his posts.

It implicates that also my two ADSL modems: TP-Link TD-W8950ND and D-Link DSL-2740B has a design fault in the circuitry or indequate suppresion componens on the board. I see CRC error at the same time when I hear pop from speakers and portable battery-powered AM radio.

If you want to stop the pops on the X-540 then a mains filtered strip socket will do the job as it's main fuction is to suppress mains interference from getting into your Audio equipment but I don't know if it works the same way for modem/routers.

I'm about to go shopping for lots of potentially useless stuff too:

HUM comes from the transformer and is picked up by the audio circuitry on the board and this can be heard as a constant hum on the speakers   :(

If you are getting this then bin it  ;)

Great find K5 that's sometimes happens with me, you hear some strange low level music coming in and then fades away.
