Each and everyone of us on here can sympathise with you,  weve all been through it and I think weve all been surprised at just how badly crosstalk affects the line.

BE was one of the very first on FTTC to be affected so badly.  But that does have a good side, its thanks to crosstalk that BE developed HG612 modem stats

The way I look at FTTC if your not suffering from crosstalk there are other kinds of disturbers like RFI which you can't do anything about when it's on the D-Side.

Gezz imagine having Crosstalk and RFI it would be a nightmare  :(

I think BTO will bring in vectoring sometimes next year in 2015. It's have to be done otherwise many of us will complaints to ISP's and BTO of slower sync rate because of crosstalk & rfi

I went from 110 attainable sync down to around 50mbit at one point.  I lost over 50%.

Thankfully BT did recognise that as a fault, and I had a pair swap which got me back up to 72-75 range.  Probably as good as I will get until vectoring.

I see kitz and some other people have also eventually been hit quite bad only just about keeping 80, some may remember not long ago we were talking about aardvark's excellent line, well now he is down to below 80.

From increased cross-talk over the past year since getting VDSL2, we're down from 37-39Mbps to 25-27Mbps with heavy interleaving, high error rates and disconnects every few days to boot.  Previously with ADSL2+ we got a rock-steady 18Mbps, which we could push up to 20Mbps by tweaking the SNRM.  So, aside the extra upstream (about 5Mbps, up from 1Mbps with ADSL2+) we've not gained much at all from VDSL2.  And the monthly bill has doubled too!

The crosstalk on FTTC is terrible huge mistaken by BT in the first place. BT should have fibre all the way from exchange to their homes. It's just VDSL staying old fashion way as ADSL did on the bloody old copper wiring. BT doesn't want u to have 100% fibre.

Believe me I wish to have option to get FTTP but because I live in a high rise block It will never be possible, I know it could cost 1-
2k but oh well. Until I move.. its FTTC for me.

Its still good but crosstalk is just killer OF VDSL

No thats just the effect of power cut back to help prevent crosstalk for the longer lines.   Those on lines near the exchange will have the most PCB in their U0 and U1 bands.   For example mine are -6, and -26.7dBm

Just who is going to pay for it though max?   VDSL is still being rolled out and is costing BT billions, its estimated that it will take many years before they begin to recover the costs from rolling out FTTC.
Im sure we'd all love it, and Im pretty certain that BT would love to roll it out, not sure what the shareholders would think though, nor where the money would come from to roll it out nationwide. :/

Mine is -18 and -32
Oh so it means because mine line is short it wont need as much power is that right thats why its -  ?

Ouch!  To get those speeds on adsl... then youd have to be @1km from the exchange.. & in which case Im guessing on fttc, you still have a fairly long d-side :(
