Billion 8800NL as Modem only Bridge
« on: October 22, 2015, 09:34:32 PM »

If i purchase a Billion 8800NL this weekend  :fingers: i would like to set it up to replace the HG612 and still be able to to use my router.

Is the 8800NL Wan socket plug & play or do I have to change settings on its GUI ?

I'm puzzled by your question.  ???

Looking at the Billion 8800NL page and then selecting the Application Diagram tab to show the rear of the device, I do not see any socket marked WAN. Reading left to right, I see: DSL LAN4 LAN3 LAN2 LAN1.

You will definitely need to configure the device into bridge mode but I'm sure there will be people to assist -- if you get stuck.

This is a better link http://www.billion.uk.com/edu/VDSL2/index.html

This is difficult for me all i know is the BrightBox2 will be doing the PPPOE stuff and the 8800NL will be the modem just like the HG612.

So what are the setting on the 8800NL to set it to bridge mode using LAN4

The instructions are headed
2) PPPoE Bridged mode (FTTC / VDSL)
