BT to Plusnet
« on: November 03, 2014, 12:51:46 AM »

Hey, it's been a while!

I'm just a bit confused... last week I moved from BT to Plusnet (hurray).

One thing did baffle me, previously I was on the 80/20 with BT. Now with plusnet I'm now on a 40/10 package but the weird thing is my Broadband has not re-synced. How come I didn't get re-synced? Are Plusnet still paying for 80/20 for me? (would be great but all I can get is 27MB).

I also like it how they told me an engineer will be coming round my house, luckily I know they don't come if it's a swap from FTTC to FTTC.

The synchronisation is between the cabinet DSLAM & the CPE and is the VDSL2 section of the circuit. As neither of those two items needed to be reconfigured they just "carry on regardless".

The only thing to change during your transition from BT to Plusnet is the PPPoE session, along with the relevant credentials to access the service.

You sure you not on 40/20?

Now plusnet sell a 40/20 service in place of 40/10 and as you are asking yes they provision at wholesale 80/20 but just cap it the downstream to 40mbit.

I found out they pay for 80/20 but cap at 40/20.
