Unexpected resync
« on: October 31, 2014, 07:48:38 AM »

After more than a month of a near-perfect connection, at 00:38 this morning my connection dropped for about 6 minutes, then reconnected with virtually identical conditions to before. There was nothing in the stats to indicate that there was anything wrong. It's working fine now, but look at the QLN chart:

Gosh, was that a month?   Time flies - remember, mine was activated a day after yours.

Mine also continues to perform well, sync rates (according to Zen portal) of circa 50/9.5, which is far more than I expected and so far, hasn't changed.

Oddly enough, according to the Zen portal, I also had 3 resyncs between midnight and 1am this morning, these being the only drops so far apart from those caused by me powering modem off when experimenting.   In each case there was apparently no change whatsoever in DS or US rate, so I wonder if it was false reporting somehow?    Still relying n BT's locked down modem, so unable to get any independent stats to verify.

Wow that is one impressive spread!

I notice that you individual SNRm per band seems slightly more bumpy, but certainly nothing untoward.
The spread is so wide that its hard to see if the overall shape has changed, but perhaps there is a dish effect in D2, the end of D3 has possibly changed too.    But like you say, amazingly there isnt any change to performance..  for that reason and because QLN is a one off snap shot, it would be interesting to see if its still there at next resync.

Yes, I'll force a resync at some point, but I'll leave it a bit. I'm guessing that the strange QLN is probably just the remnants of whatever it was that caused the resync.

I just forced a resync, and this is what the QLN looks like now. It's still a bit fuzzy, but much less.

A distinct improvement but still not as good as it was previously.

I'm using a different PC at the moment, so I don't have access to any earlier snapshots, but you can see the history on MDWS.
