It needs a hell of a lot more than that to look even remotely acceptable/professional.  :'(
My system is now installing a new build, though I don't know what as it doesn't tell you.

For reference if it's not automatically giving you new builds:
Assuming you're using Windows 10 via the new Start menu, click the Start button and then click the option for PC settings.
At the PC settings screen, click the setting for Update and recovery.
At the Update and recovery screen, click the option for Preview builds.
At the Preview builds screen, click the button to Check now.

Windows will tell you if a new build is available and display a Download now button. If not, a message appears telling you that no new preview mode was found.
Assuming a new build is available, click the Download now button. Windows will start downloading and then install the new build.

The new build is 9860 even though 9879 is supposedly available. But checking again with the "fast" option it says there is another....

Edit; Yes, now on 9879.

It definitely updated itself from 9841 to 9860 as at that time was looking at the task manager and a localhost.exe was using about 48% of the processor for 10 minutes and got concerned wish i had jotted down the full name of the service and then it asked for a reboot it never showed up as an automatic update it must come in though a back-door localhost process.

If you look in the right place you'll see that it checks automatically at specific times, waking the PC to do it if necessary (and possible).
Mine was set for 2am checks daily, but it will catch up the next time it's on and idle.

Another area I looked at was Windows Update. You can run it to check, but can't then tell it to install what it finds.

Except you can, via Security and Maintenance in the Control Panel. In the Maintenance section you can "Start Maintenance" which will (among other things) install any pending updates.

They're clearly trying to move all this process to become much more of a hidden/background activity.

here is how I updated my build

To avail the latest build – the first since Build 9860 hit the scene some three weeks ago – the steps involved are fairly simple. Just navigate to PC Settings > Update and recovery > Preview builds. Hit that Check Now button to find Build 9879 and if you’re familiar with the process, go ahead and install it. If

If there is an intermediate build (Was in my case), repeat the process multiple times, it will only update one build at a time.

The windows update situation greatly concerns me, I dont want a automated windows update where I cannot block updates.

I don't recall, but the W8 process was very different, not least because it was such a radical change from W7 so much comment concentrated on interface issues.

The boot time for Windows 10 TPB seems quite a bit slower than Windows 8.1, though it's still in the preview stage but even when previewing Windows 8 it still had a fast boot time.
