:D you noticed it to, fecking spent 2 hours looking for a store that sells  4 - 5 meters of DSL cable RJ11 to RJ11 and zero results (PCWorld, Currys, Homebase, Tescos ,Argos and so on) they only sell the standard 2 meter stuff.

Why is it you need to purchase online for what you you need if thats the case then all city and town shops should just close and we will do it online  >:(

You may need another ORE to visit your premises if and enginer has made a bollocks inside your cabinet, though give it 5 or so days before makeing that call.

shops will try to stock as little as possible, they on death row in my view (not food and clothes), my city has loads of boarded up shops.

Monday is when the voice engineer will turn up.

today is 54mbit sync same DLM profile as yesterday, the errors have eased off now and they also did ease of yesterday afternoon as well, so if they dont come back the engineer will only see the lower sync but not a very high error rate.  I think I am still getting some small error bursts but not as big as 2 days ago.

copy and paste from tbb.

voice engineer been says line tests ok although he also said its noisy, left without doing anything and was moaning how his manager tells them to do test and leave.

So now need to get broadband engineer, the error rates since yesterday have gone to normal levels tho so now they not going to witness 1000s of crc errors. I will have to push for a fix based on sync speed.

Currently 53mbit on fast path, was at 75mbit albeit at 4db snr which probably translates to about 68-70 at 6db and estimate at 73.

the engineer was friendly and ran his test 3 times, he said his hands are tied if the test passes.  He also said he isnt broadband trained.

You don't say if the 'Paste' from TBB is in relation to your own issue, or someone else's ??

Whatever way you look at it, if audible noise is heard whilst on-site by the engineer, then they have to go and FIX IT. They are only requested to close the job if the line tests pass AND the PSTN is quiet.
Them's the rules for 'Conscious Decision To Appoint' (CDTA).

I am considering ordering a new line, get the cashback etc. from plusnet again for the new line also.  My neighbour in same building still has a easy full 80/20 sync.  It does seem to get visiting engineers to do any physical work is nigh impossible.  My location probably isnt helping as I am on a main road (so I dont think they even park near) and my junction box is near the roof.  The issue would then be paying for 2 lines as plusnet have a 18 month contract which I only started in new year of 2014. So its basically half way through.  But plusnet I wonder if will agree on the basis that its probably easier to get a new pair via ordering a new line than to push dozens of engineers out.

I'm sure there are providers offering 12 month FTTC contracts now. Something to think about perhaps? :)
