I'm suddenly getting minute by minute alerts for duplicate file uploads. I'm using hg612 stats. Are they real? Nothing has changed at my end!

Yes, they are very real else you wouldn't have been sent them...

After trawling through the database here I can tell you exactly what happened but not why.

You didn't upload anything between approx 25 March 18:00 through to approx 30th March 20:00. On the 25th your local clock was correct on GMT. When uploads resumed on the 30th, your local clock had jumped forwards 2 hours (rather than 1 hour after the clock change to BST on the 29th) but no idea why. It stayed like that until 17:49 this evening when it abruptly lost an hour (again no idea why) and was back on BST as it should be.

So that meant that for the next hour, you were uploading stats that you had already uploaded, hence the duplicate messages. They would have stopped at 18:49 had you not stopped uploading yourself at 18:47....

Please remember that MDWS is just recording the data you are uploading, it doesn't modify it in any way.

Bit of a long shot this but is there any way Tony might still have a copy of my Hlog from December 2016? I realise it's been over three months since I last uploaded so I will completely understand if it has been deleted by now.
Nope gone is gone.

If the data is there this should display it?
Data to show - hlog
Date options - historic
Date to view - easily goes back a year

But only if there is at least one current set of data and there is none

Typical - I would have stopped it earlier but I was still at work. Thanks for looking into it, I didn't want to bombard your server, but I couldn't see anything immediately wrong. I'll double check everything again at this end, and re-enable the uploads at some point.

Thanks again - really appreciate all your efforts!

The server lost the line for about three minutes and everyone's uploads failed....

Please note that the MDWS server is currently DOWN for some maintenance and security updates. I'll post again when it's back up.

EDIT
All running again as of 09:36

Thanks Tony. This gave me the opportunity to check how DSLstats now behaves when MDWS is down. :)

MDWS PROBLEMS

Thanks for  the mails from various users since Wednesday that there is an ongoing problem with emailed resync and other alerts/responses. In fact there are a lot more problems than that happening with quite a few internal routines not working at all for no obvious reason and I've spent a lot of time yesterday and into the small hours trying to fathom out what is wrong with no answers. This all started after a large batch of Window Updates were applied  on the morning of the 26th mostly security fixes. There were no other changes.

I'm going to try various options at restring a working version but If that doesn't succeed then it's highly likely that will be the end of MDWS as a facility and it will not be resurrected. I'm already highly stressed out with other matters, and now this, and something has to go.

Apologies. I'll leave it running as is until I can see some hope of success or otherwise.

Hope you get there, Tony.  It would be a real shame if MDSW was to disappear.

I agree. It would be a real shame to see MDSW lost - I hope you can fix it Tony. Keeping fingers crossed

best of luck tony, it would be a real shame if MDWS ceased to exist as its brilliant.  If you want an extra set of eyes to help debugging then perhaps some of us can volunteer.

My suggestion is to roll back the windows updates, then install one at a time to find which update broke things.
