I had the same a fail upload at 3.03 and a ok at 07.15. I am definitely on a different exchange and a different part of the country to Broadstairs and Ronski.

Sorry but this was actually a server problem.

There is a calendar in MDWS that controls internal transitions between GMT/BST and I had forgotten to update it for this transition and so the server wasn't (simply put) running correctly when looking at user upload times.

Normally failure and okay messages are suppressed for some hours overnight for various reasons (inc due to user clocks not auto adjusting) on clock changes but this didn't happen and several hundred unwanted failure messages went out . The problem was corrected at about 05:55 as luckily I was up and about and spotted it before I watched the F1 GP. The upload resume messages were then sent out when they were automatically enabled again at 07:15.

As usual, there are loads of people (around 80) that need to update their clocks.

Note that the Resume Upload message has never reported the time that uploads resume when you receive them, just that they have done so as the message could be delayed for many hours for various reasons.

Various people seem to get hung up over this and also mail me direct, I am considering turning off this monitoring feature completely as I likely can't tell you why any particular upload failed, plus there are some bugs in there still. Users will just have to do a bit more monitoring themselves and for some, maybe stop obsessing over their stats when there is little or nothing service affecting. The idea of the project was to help people and make it easier for others to assist them but I'm not sure this is working as intended any more.

Currently, for personal reasons, I have no plans to maker any further updates or fixes to MDWS as I just don't have the time or energy and I'm not too well either. Also trying to look after my other half who is recovering from surgery.

No need to apologise, it didn't bother me in the slightest, and i only mentioned it as Broadstairs had in case it helped shed some light on the issue.

Hope both yourself and your wife recover quickly.

I did wonder if the server might have been the issue, BUT I have also had this when it was not clock change time. My PC which runs DSLStats does indeed reset its clock at 0100hrs but according to Eric DSLStats does not change its time until restarted and I'm never up at that time nowadays....

I'm running DSLStats on a Linux VM which is set to UTC and had no idea how to change the time zone from the CLI. In case it helps someone, here's what some googling turned up. Warning: Don't change the timezone on a server machine without considering the impact.

If you're on a distro that uses the systemd "init" system eg. Debian, Ubuntu or Fedora

Check your current setting
Code: [Select]
$ timedatectl
      Local time: Mon 2017-03-27 16:11:51 UTC
  Universal time: Mon 2017-03-27 16:11:51 UTC
        RTC time: n/a
       Time zone: Etc/UTC (UTC, +0000)
 Network time on: yes
NTP synchronized: yes
 RTC in local TZ: no

View available options
Code: [Select]
$ timedatectl list-timezones
Africa/Abidjan
Africa/Accra
Africa/Addis_Ababa
Africa/Algiers
Africa/Asmara
...

Daylight saving should be automatically accounted for if a city is selected
Code: [Select]
$ sudo timedatectl set-timezone Europe/London
Also, take a break for a while tbailey2 and look after your familiar and self. We'll still be here when you're better :)

EDIT: tidy up

I had the same banger. Adjusting the clock on the computer to British Summer Time and restarting DSLStats sorted it.

Cheers. It was because I had rebooted into another OS and DS had stuck an hour on the clock, all sorted now. :D

Anyone know what the acceptable level of ES/hour is? BT Wholesale say my line has an unacceptable level of errors and want to send an SFI Engineer.

If you on the most leniant profile then averaged out its 120 ES per hour.
The middle profile is 60 per hour and the most stable profile is 30 per hour.

Your interleaving has sorted out your error seconds; but let openreach attend and see what problems they can find/sort out.

I was getting 1200/hour last night but as Ian said interleaving has kicked in.

Bit of a long shot this but is there any way Tony might still have a copy of my Hlog from December 2016? I realise it's been over three months since I last uploaded so I will completely understand if it has been deleted by now.

If the data is there this should display it?
Data to show - hlog
Date options - historic
Date to view - easily goes back a year
