Noticed on the full user stats the Zyxel modem/routers are highlighted with a green background and other non Zyxel modems/routers are not, is there something wrong with the Zyxel that needs it to highlighted  :-\

Hover your mouse over the green and it says the modem is MCT approved.

Is that what it is  ;D are the HG612 not MCT approved as openreach gave them out during fttc installs

Couldn't find any contact information on the website. I've forgotten my memorable passphrase and wondered could an admin help me out?

Is that what it is  are the HG612 not MCT approved as openreach gave them out during fttc installs
I just checked this with Kitz and they both are. She says:
Quote
In fact various ISP supplied modems are MCT approved, but they don't actually make the public MCT list.  This is because the ISPs have submitted their branded modems themselves; for example Sky, BT, TT and presumably the EE Livebox although I'm not certain for the latter.
But of course they have to be able to upload to MDWS as well so many approved modems won't show unless either HG612 Stats or DSLstats works with them (obviously  ??? )

I've updated the listings concerned.

There are still quite a few people who haven't added their modem via the MDWS Options menu. Only takes a few seconds  ;)

Edit:
I also note on the Billion Forum this statement (15 July 2016) from a user who appears to be a company rep:

Quote
The original 8800NL has not passed BT's MCT for SIN 498 and there are no plans to put this through.

They try to point out that you can use what you like and BT can't stop you. Which is true but you might have problems getting support I guess. Which begs the question, can BT tell remotely what Modem you are using? Since they can update the firmware on their own modems/routers, I guess they can.

The MCT list occasionally escapes into the wild - for instance: www.fcs.org.uk/image_upload/files/BTW%20List%20of%20Approved%20Modem%20CPE%20v7.pdf - though as you/Kitz say it doesn't list ISP own brand models or ones supplied by Openreach themselves.

I note the posts on Billion's forum which I see are 4 years old and have to say are somewhat misleading re: the current position.

Openreach can identify non MCT kit and one may find it breaks following changes in their network. Draytek sum up my understanding at www.draytek.co.uk/information/our-technology/bt-sin-498

they reserve the right to terminate your service if not using approved kit though how likely this is unless you are interfering with other customers lines I can't say..

Yes, sorry I was - it's what I get for being half asleep!

Just glad I don't have a Billion if that is their view though

I'm not sure if you're aware but I did an MCT page several months ago, but never got around to publicly announcing it.

So using a Billion 8800nl on the OR network is like using a Cobra 80 CB radio in late 70's it was frowned upon because it caused interference with peoples tv/radio yet it was the best to pickup low signals and transmit much further than others don't mind being bandit again  ;D

Hi Tony

Just wondered if it would be possible to setup alerts for example if your DS Snrm had a large surge you could get an email alert - perhaps other alerts could be considered?

many thanks for your continued work!

Others have asked but they are a lot of work and I don't have the time currently. If you are desperate, DSLstats will already do this and other alerts for you.

It does work as I discovered a short while back...
