TalkTalk... what's going on?
« on: August 27, 2014, 10:07:38 PM »

Am I the only one suffering lol pings for the last two days?

Modem direct to the master, no wireless, one laptop connected to the ethernet port with no default gateway, pinging FROM the HG. No difference.

This is the first time I've had a problem that couldn't be attributed to my own crap bit of copper...

I wonder if what you are experiencing is related to their current general problem, which I mentioned here:-\

Out of curiosity I just pinged the BBC and found that mine has gone up from its usual 25 ms to 35 ms. I've no idea if that's related to the same issue or just coincidence.

Ahh. Job done then :)

They've been OK for an hour or so and I've been gaming with a normalish ping:

Ping statistics for 212.58.244.20:
    Packets: Sent = 159, Received = 159, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 24ms, Maximum = 50ms, Average = 27ms

Average was over 100ms earlier with spikes to 500/999. It was unplayable for a good while :(
