Think Broadband reports this
Seems a good idea, except that according to one comment, cards will be left by the engineer on premises selected for the survey, and they might try more at those than those not selected.

This almost says it all :(

The main issue we foresee is that engineers will be aware of which cards they are going to leave a card on and thus a small number may put more effort into those, offering the level of service we see people complaining about to the other jobs.

IMHO most engineers and not just 'a small number' will put more effort into a job which they know they have to leave a card.  Its human nature.
I think it may make some of the contractor engineers pull their socks up on those jobs too.

Seems utterly pointless.

They could get feedback from the CPs on fault closure.

This is like asking Joe Public how competent their GP is. They have no idea so will base it on things like 'he has a nice face' and not actual results.

It depends if they just ask for marks out of 5 on "performance "  or a precise questionnaire.  Joe Public can tell if someone turns up late or makes performance worse even if (s)he can't quantify "late" or "performance".

You should be able to rate any Openreach/Contractor work by entering the "job number" and the circuit into a website. Everyone should be left printed notification of that.

What's being suggested sounds like the minimum to placate Ofcom.
