Hi, my name is Semmy (not really but that is my chosen non-de-plume).

I have a life long interest in what makes things work, hence my appearance here.
In the past I have been involved with civil engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial automation, killing people and training people to kill people.
A slight tendency towards being a hobby'a'holic trying the following at one point or another, high power amateur rocketry, full bore rifle and pistol shooting, motorcycling, hiking, camping, English Civil War re-enactment, automated drone technology, radio control aircraft, boats and tanks, metal crafting and a few more besides!

I am also owned by a rather cute three year old tortoishell cat called Matilda.

I can see that you know of the correct place to have a doze or quick nap, so as to gain maximum attention from your two-legged upright. I'm told that the rectangular thingy, with springy bumps marked with letters and numbers, is another good place to sit when you have a priority need.
