Author Topic: Basic Question - How do you connect everything up for HG612 stat monitoring?  (Read 1991 times)

Hi,

Apologies for asking this, but I couldn't see it covered anywhere and the excellent .pdf file that comes with the program doesn't cover this at all (perhaps the author might want to add it?)

How do you physically connect everything together so that you can use the HG612 stat monitoring program?

Currently, I have an unlocked HG612 connected to a Asus AC68U router which feeds several wired and wireless connections.

Looking at the software, it seems as if I need to change the IP address of either the router or the HG612 as they are both 192.168.1.1 by default. So which device would people recommend changing?

I currently get basic stats such as uptime, noise margins, by disconnecting the router and connecting to Lan 2 of the HG612 and logging in to the GUI. I'm assuming that as this is over Lan 2 that a cable will need to be connected between lan 2 and a spare port on the router for me to get stats from the stat monitoring program?

Hopefully, you've followed all of this, and hopefully it will be simple for someone to let me know how to connect everything together so that I can monitor my new FTTC connection.

Many thanks

Does this help?

Yes you will need to change the IP on your router to say 192.168.1.254.

No thats fine, you didnt really miss it... I dont think its clear in the original instructions by Asbokid that you need to do this.

I myself failed to know you had to do this the first time that I got fttc.
Many others have also asked, which is why I did that page..  which is in addition to Asbos pdf instructions and an attempt just to make things a little bit clearer. :)

Good luck :)
