DSLstats pre-release version 4.54.2
« on: May 29, 2014, 08:12:20 AM »

*** Temporarily withdrawn ***

This version (hopefully) fixes the issues raised in connection with 4.54 / 4.54.1. The fix for the HG622 includes an additional option "Use HG622 workaround" on the login page, and this must be set to enable correct working with this model. Full list of changes:

- telnet prompt is now automatically detected (was manual option with v4.54.1)
- workaround for issues with HG622 when using the new networking library
- corrected issues with D-Link DSL-2640B
- added option for logarithmic Y axis on Connection speed graph
- fixed some issues with graph scrolling
- login should now work with modem/routers which don't require username and password to log in
- made some changes to the way webserver files are deleted when the webserver is disabled (this may fix the "Unable to delete..." error reported by b*cat, but provides detailed logging if not)

Eric something strange is happening, it appeared not to work but has now started working on my HG622. This is what the event log showed

as you can see it started OK and ran my custom command and is now running OK. I'll leave it a while to see how it goes before trying the Windows version. I will stop it in a while and start it up afresh to see if the same thing happens.

You're right, Stuart, but this seems to happen only with the Windows version. It fails to retrieve data on the first sample and logs the error, but works properly after that. I'll investigate.

I can report 4.54.2 works perfectly with the Dlink 2640B.
I guess the change you made post v4.50 indeed did mess up the data parsing on this router (and probably its younger/bigger sister the 2740B as well).
As I tend not to upgrade to the latest version each time it wasn't spotted until just last week.

The sampling process certainly is much faster.

Many thanks
Keep up the good work

Many thanks for confirming that. The source of the problem was that I hadn't allowed for the possibility that some routers don't report either the DSL link uptime or the AS uptime.

Eric that is with the LINUX 64bit version NOT Windows and it happens periodically not just at start up. I'll stick with the other version for now... and test again later when you've found time to sort it. It is certainly fast....

I see. It works perfectly with the HG622 on Linux64 here, so maybe there's a critical timing issue or something of that nature.

Since it seems I can recreate it if you need any testing done to track it down let me know. I can run wireshark if needed to try and trace it.

Thanks Stuart. I can reproduce the problem on Windows, and I've fixed it (on my system at least) by adding a small time delay before running the HG622 workaround code. At the moment I have an urgent task to do, but I'll get back to this as soon as I can.
