It seems that I had missed the data for one of the graphs (US_SF).

It's not too important though, as it's just for information.

The important ones to watch are SFErr (i.e. CRC errors).

The attached version of HG612_stats.exe should sort that out.

Other than quite an increase in DS RSCorr/FEC errors & DS Bitswaps at 15:10 it looks reasonably O.K.

Are you on a target 3dB or 6dB SNRM for your connection?

If it's 6dB, it's running slightly low at around 5dB or so.

From the raw data, I see you have accumulated 5568676 DS Bit Errors in the 240 hours or so that your connection has been up.

I have no idea whether that's good or bad as I don't see any on my VDSL2 connection.
I might add a graph for those at some stage.

TBH, I don't really know what to look for with ADSL connections.
Maybe someone more experienced may wish to comment?

It would be worth leaving the logging running overnight to capture a good 'picture' of your connection's performance.

As it's not at all intrusive, I leave my PC & the logging running 24/7 & just look at the scheduled graphs every now & then.

If all appears to be running O.K. (no program crashes etc.), sight of the various debugging/event logs would be much appreciated.

I'm on 6dB, tweaked down to 85% to get above 6818kbps.

I intend to leave it running on my server 24/7.

I will update with the latest hg612_stats.exe and switch error logging back on then upload  tomorrow evening  :)

Cheers, Ian.

Apart from an od snapshot test here & there, I have not previously seen my programs running on an ADSL connection, so I'm quite interested to see the detailed logs.

Would you class your server as a FAST or SLOW machine & which PC Speed setting are you currently using (via the GUI settings)?

I noticed you had switched from SLOW to MEDIUM 1st June.
Was that for a particular reason or an experiment?

No reason really..... now switched to FAST in GUI,no reason again, it is a AMD Turion (II) dual core (2.2 Ghz).

Thanks Ian.

Looking at your PC's speed, I imagine the SLOW setting work work perfectly well.

The FAST setting has added 2.6 seconds of pauses to processing time on your setup, the SLOW setting would add no pauses to speak of & the MEDIUM setting is the middle ground.

Would you mind posting a modem_stats.log extract for me to see if the latest changes have now added the missing data in the correct places?

Also, an extract from CURRENT_ERROR.LOG_file_ERROR.TXT would be useful for me to see how the data harvesting of 'snapshot' data performs on your ADSL connection (particularly the linediag data as that's quite a large chunk of data, certainly for VDS2 connections with over 4000 rows of tone data for each element).

BE1

Find attached my full CURRENT_ERROR.LOG_file_ERROR.TXT, and a portion of my modem_stats.log.

I may, in the next couple of week or months, install a hg612 on an ADSL2+ connection, if I do, I will install your software and if you want me too, go through this process again :)

Thanks Ian,

All being well, the programs will work as is for ADSL2 & ADSL2+ connections, but they are untested at this stage.

If anything isn't quite right for those connections, it should just need a vey minor tweak, so yes, a bit of feedback & some logs would be useful please.

I'm just leaving for work, so I'll have a look at the logs you have posted this evening.

Everything seems to be working O.K.

I started monitoring an ADSL2 connection yesterday & needed to slightly amend the code for compatibility.
I believe it should now also be ready for ADSL2+ connections.

I'm just adding a couple of other tweaks & then I'll post the relevant programs for you & publicly release the v 2.11 update.

Thanks for the testing & logs.
I couldn't have done this without your assistance.
