Earth Resistance readings
« on: May 11, 2014, 06:30:06 PM »

Just a question what should the earth resistance readings be connection 1 wire to earth and the other to the phone line?
One wire -1096, and the other wire the DMM just displays 1 as it goes too high? Shouldn't the DMM display the same resistance readings?

You cannot make any sensible measurement whilst the wires are part of an active circuit. Your observations seem, to me, to be more or less what would be expected with the "far end" connected to the battery via the exchange electronics.  :)

As the wisened old Cat himself states, the circuit has to be 'dead' (Fuses pulled at the Exchange MDF), in order to run your test.  :)

After connecting to earth and fiddling the connection seems to be more stable, the closest snr to a line we have ever had ;D
