Seems I spoke too soon on the "Unable to login to modem/router" issue with DSLstats - no sooner than I hit Post was kicked off and unable to resume recording since..  >:(

Looks like I may have got around this for now by changing the port used for the DSLstats Telnet session.. :P
How long it lasts is another question though!

How did you change the port for DSLStats Telnet in the router?

@samwise78 - Do you run the ZyXel as a router or a router/modem ? (apologies for the poor terminology but you know what I mean - I hope!)

Hi Stuart, in the settings on the ZyXel as per j0hn's port, also has to be changed in DSLstats too obviously to make sure it attempts connection on the same port as the router is expecting.

Running as an all-in-one so router/modem

Still working ok from here from what I can see - have just had an unexpected resync but I don't hold the ZyXel responsible - yet..

Cheers

we've been discussing it for the past 10 or so posts, it's linked to further up.

it's only been uploaded for the 8324, the 8924 still only has v14 showing. this looks like an oversight, as the firmware is the same for both.

Yes it looks to have been squashed in this release - at least it has been for me..

<Edit>

Although I have to say I've been observing a steadily reducing SNR and more tones being marked unusable - as Busa observed on his thread with his 8924. It's the first time I've really seen this behaviour first hand since my line was fixed so as a relatively unscientific test - I've rolled back to 6b1 for the next 48hrs to see if the older firmware works better for me.

Cheers

Decided to install V15 on my 8924, now to see how it goes. V14 was OK for me so if I do have problems I can fall back to that.

Nearly 19+ hours now on V15 and my SNRM down has dropped from 7.4 to 7.1 but is higher than it was on V14 before the reboot. I am back on fastpath now after my DLM hit because of the thunderstorms the other week. Error rates are quite low, looking like something around 150 ES/24hrs on TT Stable profile. So quite happy right now. No problems accessing the router from DSStats (not changed the port so far) and only the two timeouts I usually get when DSLStats starts up otherwise no more so far.
