I havent checked prices recently, but Eclipse and Kcom are 2 places who normally retail new VMG8324/VMG8924 at about the best price.

Stuff-UK usually sell them, but it looks like they only have the VMG8924 at the mo.

ETA
Eclipse site no more and redirects to kcom where they list the VMG8324 but I cant see a way for non customers to purchase them any more. :(

Hi

We don't know the difference, but I would be inclined to use the file with the 8-4-2016 date, as this is newer than the tweak.nl site.

ZyXEL need to sort out their source control and version numbers, I returned one because it kept crashing and everyone said theirs didn't, and it was because I was using a different version 7 of the firmware to everyone else's version 7, I assumed they were all the same as they would be for any other manufacturer.

Regards

Phil

I use the 14c that is now on zyxel ftp. Not seen any issues yet though I use bridge mode.

One thing I noticed is plugging in USB device causes the router to reboot?

3G backup works fine though.

Are you using the correct 2A power supply?
No problem with it rebooting on usb here.

Yes included 2A adapter. No idea why it rebooted, it hasn't happened since.

I suspect this router is not good at memory management, sometimes the memory usage will creep up to the high 80%'s. This usually happens after I've made a few config changes, the reboot button in the GUI does nothing to bring it back down. I have, on occasions, thought the router may be a bit unstable when the memory usage gets in the high 80%'s, having seen the odd unexplained reboot.

I have found, that after making numerous config changes or installing new FW, it's best to reboot the router by turning the power off for around 30 seconds. This tends to bring the memory usage back down to the mid 60%'s were it stays until the next time I mess with the config.  ;)

Could one of you chaps who've gone to the latest FW version, confirm whether it fixes the scheduling issue(s) seen with the previous version? I.e. if you attempt to configure the scheduler to switch the WiFi adapters off. It wouldn't switch them back on again.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Further to this, I bit the bullet and updated to the latest FW version and can confirm the Power Management scheduling has been fixed.

Cheers,

Paul
