I've used that on the 11 release (which I'm still using) on my 8924 and it all worked OK.

I tried the release 11 last night, and it worked flawlessly. This morning, it turned on as it should be after using the scheduler. All LAN and wifi working as it should. Thanks a lot Stuart!!!

Hi,

If anyone is interested, there are a few VMG8924's on eBay currently. The seller states they've been taken out the box, set up by the ISP then put back in the box as they use they're own gateways. I just paid £40 for one. They're listed as ZyXEL VMG8324/8924 but I've confirmed they are the 8924s.

The seller is: kevinallitt - no affiliation whatsoever, just passing on the information.

Thanks,

Paul

Seen that listing, was tempted, but wasn't sure on model, so it's the 8924 which is dual band, great, going to order one now. :)

Excellent.

I have an 8324 currently that I've only been using for a week or so. Was only looking as my Dad commented that he was looking for something like the 8324 when he visited at the weekend. Randomly Googled it today and noticed the eBay listing. Can't go wrong for £40. The old man can have my 8324 now!

No worries, hope it helps others out.

Mine's been dispatched already, so I've just backed up the config on the 8324 hoping I can upload it to the 8924...

Cheers,

Paul

Where are you guys buying your VMG8324's from? The company I work for resell broadband for some of our customers and our supplier has advised we use the above as they're one of the few modem routers that are certified by Openreach for use with FTTC. We've bought in 10 for now but out supplier are charging £90.ea which seems  a bit much?

Yeah, the 8324 and 8924 are both on the relatively small list of consumer-grade VDSL modem/routers to have gone through and passed Openreach's modem conformance test for VDSL. However, £90 is way overpriced for a 8324. I'd expect a 8924 at that price!

I bought my 8324 from Eclipse (KCOM). They sell 8324s for £65 inc. VAT here: https://www.eclipse.net.uk/products/connect/broadband/broadband-hardware/

I've also seen them come and go on eBay now and again, both new and used - but mostly new.

When they first came out the VMG8324 was about £120.   I paid about £109 for mine.  :(   It was the first combined fttc modem router that actually was available in the £100 range with GbE.   Eclipse and KCOM are currently about the cheapest place to buy them new.  They buy them in bulk to supply to their customers.

I flashed my VMG8324 with 1.00(AAKL.12)C0, and I notice that it now thinks it is a VMG8924 (see below!)  It seems to be working OK, mind you ........

mmmmmmmm, maybe I screwed up

I didn't see anyone post official Zyxel 13C0 repository and release notes... Please note although this is the VMG8924-B10A modem's repository, it claims the VMG8324-B10A we own is supported in the release notes.
