iirc Philip has the VMG8924 which which has dual band 802.11ac.   Both use the same firmware.... and are the same apart from the wifi and the power supply.

I'm actually wondering how many people here are getting modem resyncs / connection losses with the new 8 firmware which they didn't get with the 7 one. Just as a rough statistic to see if the VDSL part is indeed more unstable on the new firmware.

I'm of course referring to the stable (non-beta) version 8.

A changelog would indeed be great. Hope that ZyXel will finally upload one soon...

I've had several tries with the Final V8 firmware and always got unexpected resyncs, although it looked like CRCs and ES were low. Gone back to V7 and everything is well!

Still on the 8 beta with no stability problems.

Dare not downgrade router to ver 7 as DLM will no doubt complain.  ;D

I'm on release 8 (non-beta) and not a single resync here.  Did you do a reset of the configuration for release 8?

Best Regards

i have noticed a strange thing with 8C0: sometimes it appears a message saying that router can't connect to internet but ipv4 uptime (in system status) doesn't go to zero and continues to grow.
So it could be only a false alarm and not a real disconnection.....8b2 seems more stable to me, i should go back to 8b2 and testing again it

Hi

I would try clearing your cache folder in the browser you are using.  I've notice various odd issues which relate to the JavaScript files that download to support the Web UI.  I think when these change between firmware versions they are not changing the name of them, so the browser uses an older cached copy of the JavaScript file which then doesn't work 100% with the newer firmware.

Regards

Just to report that I have not experienced any difficulties with the V8 release, it is still early days. I am using the unlocked Eircom F1000, the VMG8324-B10a. I wonder if users reporting issues here are using the same model or the dual band wifi device?

TIA.

Thought I would give V8 another try. so far ES and CRC OK after  7 hours but 560 million FEC errors. Is this a record?

that's interesting... what was the RSCorr value with the previous firmware?

have you compared the connection quality, e.g. via pingtest.net?
