In that folder you can find also changelog file and file.rom (i don't know what it is).

With the new firmware wifi seems worse then firmware b4: 2.4Ghz link is less stable and using 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz togheter the router reboots.....

I have a VMG8924-B10A on DSL link 7Mbps/512kbps telecomitalia

Well my VMG8924-B10A arrived today and I installed the recently posted firmware (V100AAKL6C0) and found that the GUI/router kept locking up.

Flashed down to b4 which thus far seems stable thought for some reason 5GHz Wi-Fi does not seem to switch itself on even thought I can see its enabled.

Does anyone have a mirror for the recommended L4b2 firmware? - As the drop box link no longer works.

Can I just ask if anyone else is having problems with logging?

Ive noticed that I no longer seem to be logging anything under System Log - theres nothing there at all
Ive checked the Security log and I notice the last entires were
Code: [Select]
2014 Nov 12 07:37:39 Account warn User admin login from 192.168.1.2 successful
2 2014 Nov 12 07:37:05 Account warn User admin login from 192.168.1.2 successful

hmm it was the 12th that I rolled back to to 6b1 because of the telnet session limitation..   But the weird thing it was obviously working in 6b4 and had previously worked in 6b1.  The only problem I seemed to have with the roll back is that it lost all my prefs & settings.

So why should it suddenly stop working  after the roll back when it previously worked.   Not sure if Ive missed a setting somewhere.

I believe I had this issue with the system log myself using the L6 firmware downgraded to L5 and it has worked fine since.

Have you checked log settings to make sure its enabled and local log is selected?

Thanks, I'd enabled it and checked the relevant events to log (ie system, xdsl, internet etc), but hadnt noticed that for some reason it had defaulted to remote it the top section.  Ive just changed it now, so I'll see if that makes any difference.   :fingers:
