Nah, we hate making profit, we'd rather just drag it out for the hell of it after investing a sizeable portion of cash to have it installed.

Some won't get it at all. It will happen when it happens, as has been mentioned in hundreds of threads gone by, there are a multitude of reasons as to why some Cabs take an age to be fully commissioned.
It is highly unlikely that the investors of the project (Openreach) are the ones dragging their feet, more like red-tape or other departments involved ??

Yippee! :) Ops sorry But the electricity is going in! Well there's a new whole revealing electricity cable on behalf of Scottish Power! So only Taken a month, so at this rate might have it by........September!

Well all tidy now, it just looks like another green box on another street corner! Sure there's a song there somewhere! So time to sit and wait for the junk mail to start flying through the door. Spreading the good news of Infinity broadband! "Come on Openreach!" Sorry a bit of world cup fever overspilling there!
Wish me luck all! :)

So a quick update for any Watches.
Few weeks back a new black strip across the road appeared which went from old to new Cabs.
Today on the way home I spot an engineer working away on the new cab. So had a chat with him. Pleasant that he was and very informative, he was doing the old to new link for the cabs, the cable link was there but not connected and the are currently 200 links in it.  He expects to take a few days to do, so all I need to do is sit and wait some more!  :(

Is there any sign yet on the checkers of an ETA?

A new FTTC cabinet was installed next to the cabinet I'm on, but over 18 months later and its still not ready for service.

I'm positive the Openreach boys and girls are working flat out, but its the lack of information which slowly grinds me down. I check the checkers (dsl checker, openreach where and when, roadworks.org and the now defunct FTTC Check) daily, sometimes twice if I see an openreach van drive past, in the vain hope that something might give me any indication of anything happening...

I know its only superfast broadband, but I do think I'm slowly going mad.  ???

Thanks

Ant

So as I walked into town today past a Green Tardis! (Will might as well be!) I noticed that the have changed the lock on it. Gone is the green standard issue, and now a metallised one is in it's place.  ???  Does this have any meaning I wondered! Probably not! oh well still we wait!  :(  >:( :o ??? :-\

Well feel like I am standing in treacle and jogging at the same time!
Superfast Wales say my cab is done  :) but not yet handover to ISP!  :(
BtWholesale ADSL checker for my full address says "Yes" 80/20  :) :)
BtWholesale ADSL checker for my phone number or postcode says "NO!"  :(
ISP still say No!  :(
And to cap it off BTopenreach has just sent me an email saying I am not even on 41 but 74 and it is too far away!
So it looks like I will still be copper at Christmas! So "Merry Christmas All and a Happy Fibre New Year!"  :D :)

I was hoping that the new locks was a good sign that things were coming soon.

Is that correct?

What cab does the BTw checker say when you put your phone no in?

Here is the link to the BT Broadband Availability Checker. It will state the number of the PCP through which your line is connected.
