Maverick
« on: March 24, 2014, 08:00:48 PM »

Just been informed by my wonderful i-Mac that there is a possible update to 'Maverick OS', should I wish to do so ?

Have read some of the reviews and I have to say, it doesn't appear to be so much of an 'Upgrade' as a 'Downgrade' ?? Do any of the wisened Apple users on here have any advice regarding said OS ??  :)

The only 'useful' upgrade I would recommend would be to install a Windows 7 Virtual Machine.

As a typical Numpty FTTC end user, you'd then be able to see all your your connection's stats in glorious techniclour.

On a more serious note and connection stats aside. :)

I just had a quick google & read of a few articles....  hmmmm TBH Im not sure if I would if I were you.

Youre going to have to back up all your data, theres reports of various software not working with it.  Most of your software will require updating.  Also check if you hardware is compatible first.

Seems like a lot of work to me... and certainly not worth it, if you are happy with what you already have. :)

My impression as well, Kitz. I'm happy as I am so will stay as such. Cheers for having a gander across the articles though, always good to get an educated opinion.  :) :)

yw.  I'd stay as you are..  until its time to upgrade the box itself.
As long as you keep up to date with any patches for your exisiting OS, then I dont see the point.
