I have (had) a Demon "Express Solo" connection, and the equipment is a Speedtouch 510v3 router - yes it's an oldie, but a goodie - or was. An e-mail came a few days ago from Demon to say that "they are pleased to report that my line has been upgraded to MAX".
I hadn't noticed any down-time, and found that the router was still connected and up, and eagerly looked at the router's stats page, and it said 0/0 for the up and down sync speeds. Eeek!
I turned it off and waited a few minutes, and re-powered it, and waited for it to reconnect. Still says 0/0, but it seems to actually be connecting at about 3500kbps down and 350kbps up, according to the Namesco speed test page. I have also tried hardware-resetting the router to factory defaults, and reconfiguring back to previous settings - still no sync speeds reported. Before the line "upgrade", the Speedtouch 510 said something like 287/2272. The filter's a proper NTE5 faceplate filter.
Am I to take it then that this modem/router isn't suitable for MAX, as it can't/won't display the sync speeds, even though I'm pretty sure the spec says "up to 8Mbps", or is there something I can do? Are there different connection specification settings that I'd need to apply for MAX, like a modulation type change or something similar that might be preventing it displaying the sync speeds?
Thanks
