There is now also an update to fix this problem on OS X, running on Macbooks and iMacs.

As explained here

http://grahamcluley.com/2014/02/mac-os-x-10-9-2-apple-fixes-critical-ssl-security-hole/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=mac-os-x-10-9-2-apple-fixes-critical-ssl-security-hole

Here's the link again to the site that checks to see if you're vulnerable to this exploit.  Don't forget to check any/all your Apple products and all browsers : https://gotofail.com/

Appologies for a removed post, while I ponder.

Hope nobody quotes removed post, meanwhile... :-[

Both my wife's i-Phone and i-Pad were fallible as deduced using that simple test. She immediately did the iOS upgrades, and re-ran the tests and both devices now show as 'Safe'.
Thanks again for the info. :)

Good stuff BS.  Hopefully they upgraded quicker than mine, I think much of my problems where down to the server being very busy the other night, as the patch had only just been rolled out that day and I bet most people were downloading it on their systems.

My missus said it was between 5-10mins approx per device, Kitz. As you say, first night demand may have played a part in the slow upgrade you experienced ???  :)

@7LM

I'm not sure if you've seen it, but there's a post here which I read the other day that attempts to explain the issue and he says he's trying to quash the misinformation regarding this security issue.
Aside from saying it wouldn't have got through his systems it appears to be neutralish and presented quite well.

Yep I was pretty sure it would be playing a huge part as to why it took me so long.

Thanks, appreciated.

I probably took an unnecessarily 'sceptical' stance, as you'd have noticed if you saw the post I made last night before deleting it shortly afterwards, after (thankfully) realising I'd been talking gibberish.  Nice bottle of wine though, might even have another bottle tonight but will try to discipling myself from making dismissive and unhelpful posts, at least until the cold light of day.   :D

Some of the best threads are created from drinking wine.  ;) ;D. I try and neck at least two bottles before making comment.
