Hello.

I finally made the switch from the HH5 to a unlocked ECI Modem B-FOCus V-2FUb/i Rev B
but I am unsure how you get into the Web GUI of this modem.

I plugged the ECI Modem into my computer via ethernet cable but when entering the
modem address http://192.168.1.55/ into my browser to get into the Web GUI,
nothing loads up and you get page not found.

The only information I got with the modem is the IP address below and the log in info
but I am sure I need to configure my windows to use a certain IP and submask am I
not to be able to access the Web GUI? If so can somebody please let me know how
to set a connection on my windows 7 to access the Web GUI.

Thank you.

Standard ECI 192.168.168.168 IP
Telnet /putty

Welcome to the Kitz forum.

The ECI modems are rather difficult to unlock and use. As long as you definitely have an ECI B-FOCuS /I device and have successfully unlocked it, then the GUI should be accessible via the IPv4 address 192.168.168.168. (The newer ECI B-FOCuS /r device does not have a GUI built in.)

Ensure that your computer's NIC has an address on the same sub-net (192.168.168.X) as the modem's default IPv4 address (192.168.168.168). If necessary, set the gateway to be identical to the modem's default IPv4 address.

Finally, clear your browser's cache and make sure that no proxy is in use. When I last "made contact" with an ECI B-FOCuS /I, it "just worked" when I used a Firefox browser.

Hi & welcome

As burakkucat highlights its 192.168.168.168 for ECI   { Asbo's 192.168.1.55 blog post seem to confuse}

For changing computer's NIC  {try something like 192.168.168.100}
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/change-tcp-ip-settings#1TC=windows-7

Type 192.168.168.168 Chrome or firefox { IE can be mischievous}

Also check windows telnet feature is switched on.

Excellent news.  :)

Care to share the details of from where your previous difficulty had originated?  ;)

I bought the unlocked ECI Modem from the bay but the seller did not give info on how to actually access the Web GUI.
