HG612 QLN mains vs battery
« on: February 23, 2014, 03:18:32 PM »

Quick bit of tinkering as an experiment with my new HG612.

I've grabbed 3 QLN graphs of my HG612.

The first is after overnight running, so that was the state of play when I last reset it late last night.

The 2nd is following a reboot as a control, still running on mains.

The 3rd is from the HG612 running from a car battery with all the house mains switched off at the fuse box.

This was all done whilst things were working well, there was no REIN problem apparent, just done out of curiosity.

My interpretation of the graphs is that it made very little difference indeed, there's perhaps a slight smoothing of the small peaks between mains and battery, but it doesn't seem significant.

Any thoughts?

I will attempt to do the same next time I have the REIN problem come along, but as this is usually in the evening, it's harder to switch everything off when it's dark  ;D

These experiments add to the sum of knowledge (always a good thing) but I agree with your assessment that the differences aren't significant.
