It doesn't create a folder, it just downloads the zip archive dslstats32W-4.43.1.zip . You unzip it to create the folder with all the files included.

I know done it manys of times before but this time it's gone AWOL, I'll just use your Web Link for the zip archive, but DSLstats 4.40 seems to know I have downloaded the zip somewhere as the popup to upgrade has dissappeared but have not yet upgraded  ???

Ah! I've woken up now. I think that the update feature doesn't work properly with version numbers having three parts (e.g. 4.43.1). Sorry about that.

I had trouble the other day when I said yes to an upgrade to 4.43.1.
It just downloaded and disappeared, who knows where, I didn't write it down. (IE10 on W7x64)
Did a full C: drive search and found it somewhere (can't recall where, I just dragged it to the desktop, might have been an IE temp file).

I need to work on the update feature to deal with these niggles. Sorry if it's caused problems.

I downloaded the new one yesterday, UN-packed it and then marked the older directory as 'old', created a new 'Symlink' on my desktop to the new start up-file .
It all seems to work ok.
But today on boot up it did not start, Did I remember there was a box to tick somewhere to start it up on boot-up ? or do I add it to my start-up folder in KDE ?.

There's no way within DSLstats to make it start automatically on boot-up. The easiest way is to copy your desktop symlink to the KDE Autostart folder.
