I had a notification today that some one had added me to their list thingy and did I want to allow them to see when I was online or bar them, as I didn't recognise the name, some woman I barred her, this is the second in two weeks.
Question: is it some sort of scam?

No it's not a scam, but probably trying to sell you adult services.  You've done the best thing by blocking them.... I've had one or two of them myself, so it's not just you.

If that is the case, they now know my email address is live.   Perhaps I should have ignored it completely!   I thought I was too aware to get caught out!!

They are either guessing email addresses or trawling the MSN directories somewhere - who knows?

Depending on which eMail client you use, just blacklist the sender.
At least that way you will not see (be troubled) any further emails from them.
Eventually they will stop.

I had one last week wanted to be added to my MSN messenger contact,I just blocked the sender,sorted. ;)

Ive not used MSN for ages, but I turned it on last week to transfer some files.
I had a couple of requests myself - but I just ignored them and their requests to add
