You would of most likely downloaded it from
Freeware Files which is were the main program package is distributed from.
The program doesn't use an installer, if it does then it's not the proper package, it should be just a Winzip file, which you extract. My GUI does have an auto update facility, but that downloads just the GUI program and just replaces the old program, no Windows installation.
It is most likely a false positive, I've had Avast complain numerous times whilst I've been developing the GUI that it has a potential virus (I'm sure I've mentioned this in the respective thread), and during researching this I have found that loads of programmers are finding the same problems. Antivirus programs look at what the code does and some can be a bit over sensitive so to speak.
There are two things I do in this case, the first is to use
Virus Total (part of Google) to scan the file, this use 47 different virus scanners to check the file, this will give you a good idea if it's a false positive. The next step is to report the suspected false positive to your antivirus provider, hopefully they will do whatever they do and if it's a false positive they will stop this happening. If you are happy it is a false positive you can add it to an exemption list, presuming your AV has this facility.
Edit: I just scanned GraphPD with VirusTotal, looks like somebody scanned it over Christmas, anyway 2 out of 48 antivirus scanners think it shows suspicious behavior. If it was dangerous I'm sure a lot more would say so.
Edit. No idea what eed_ec.dll is.
