I appreciate from experience, more than you can know, the strain of Parents/Illness/Hospitals etc.
(Been there and doing that for the past 5 years+, both parents in different ways.)

I hope your Dad gets well soon.

Can I suggest that you don't touch Tapatalk right now.

There are no reported major issues with Tapatalk other than a few extra taps being needed by some users.

Your own rest is more important than 6 hours through the night trying to do a painful update (From your description).

I am sure everyone will understand and be able to wait until less frantic times.

The weird thing is I just checked using Tapatalk and for me it is automatically showing the last post not read.  It's not starting at the beginning of the thread and I don't have to do any scrolling or clicking.

I'm using "timeline view" from my settings in the LH side within Tapatalk.

Hi kitz

Many thanks, and yes, I use time line, shown accross the top on mobile for myself.

It just defaults to first post in thread, whilst other forums always default to last post.

It's alright though, if this cannot be changed for any reason and I appreciate your time taken.

Many thanks

John

Try the old install again trick, I assume it is an iPhone to match the iPad.

Please could I ask if you would set tapatalk to default to last users post and not the first post in thread, if possible at the same time you do the update.

This isnt a setting that I have any control over.  Its within your prefs in the tapatalk app on your phone. For android this is how I did it.

Go to settings (top RH side) >
Settings (from the list menu)>
Loading Behaviour (click on this)
"Jump to First Unread"    (or most recent etc)

My phone is an S4 (Android) and it works fine on there.    Because I checked first on the ipad I thought the whole install had gone wrong so I re-installed again.  Like you say I'll reinstall the app on the ipad as I just cant get it to work on there for some reason, yet it worked fine before the upgrade  :-\

Cheers.    Seems all ok now. :fingers:

That wasn't too bad compared to some previous attempts.   Started just before 12, but that also included doing an SQL backup, so I could roll back just in case... and also a re-install.   I wish tapatalk would get it play nice with SMF so that it was a standard SMF mod/plugin rather than having to do it manually.

Very good compared to the 6 hours worse case. Glad it went well. Must say Tapatalk is quite good, only been using it for about a week. Thanks for the update anyway.

yvw.

The SMF forums have many complaints about it - mostly getting it to work or causing conflicts and I know myself Ive nearly abandoned it a few times.   I think this time they have some of the problems ironed out and I didnt have any conflicts nor major problems with permissions.

Ive also done a search via my phone and it pulls up kitz.co.uk.. and is searchable under 'kitz' and it even comes up if you just search for 'adsl' so not sure why their search goes weird sometimes :/   Its also searchable on iOS, but then again I already had it bookmarked in there.
