DGN 2000 DGTeam 1018 Firmware dyndns.org
« on: October 31, 2013, 02:50:48 PM »

Hi,

I am trying to get a DDNS working on my router, a Netgear DGN2000, I have the custom DGTeam F/W 10.18, in the DDNS rovider list it only has a limited number of providers, and it currentl ydoes not have dyndny.org, which is what my DDNS is.

There is a walthrough on how to set it up, but I am unsure what to do as I am new at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here is the walkthrough

1 - service providername (name of service provider)
2 - url_template https://[[USERNAME]]:[[PASSWORD]]@members.provider.org/nic/update?hostname=[[DOMAIN]]&     myip=[[IP]] (query web url)
3 - required_variables domain username password
4 - required_variable_names Domain Name,Username,Password
5 - success_regexp /^(good|nochg)/ (the DDNS server return values)

There is a thread that was previously created and the use said:

"hxxps://username:password@www.dnsdynamic.org/api/?hostname=techno.ns360.info&myip=myip.dnsdynamic.com

I have wrote only these two lines:

service DNSDynamic.org
url_template above line, compiled with my dates and tested with browser."

he got it working but did not elaborate on how, so any help others can provide will be great

Thanks

I have never tried this with DDNS but have with other options.

DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK

What you could do if you cant find another way is save your firmware settings, open them with notepad and inject the settings you want. Then import them back to the firmware.

But I am sure there must be a more simple way.
